Evolving an Impactful Live Show with Mike Lesirge

This month, we're focusing on the challenges and strategies of putting together a live show for early-stage artists, particularly those who have gained popularity on social media but haven't yet performed live. We'll explore how these artists can plan their first live performances, budget for them, and scale their shows as they move to larger venues.

We're excited to feature Mike Lesirge this week. Mike is a composer, musical director, and multi-instrumentalist who has been a key figure in the live music scene for years. Since 2010, he has been the arranger and woodwind/sax/keys player for electronic music legend Bonobo, contributing to the record-breaking 'Fragments' World Tour at the Royal Albert Hall.

Mike also played a pivotal role in shaping the live shows of Grammy-nominated artist Arlo Parks and R&B icon Kelis. Currently, he's the musical director for pop star Becky Hill, electronic artist Barry Can’t Swim, and emerging singer Mackenzy Mackay. His recent work includes arranging and performing for artists like Jordan Rakei, Maribou State, and Raye.

With a vast array of experience performing with top-tier artists such as Erykah Badu, Sam Smith, and Tim Minchin, Mike is well-versed in the intricacies of live performance. He’s ready to share his extensive knowledge and experience with our community, offering invaluable insights into the world of live music.
